Movie Review: The Gerard Butler Phantom

With Nocturne coming out in just a few weeks, you can probably expect a lot of Phantom around here for a while!  Today is no exception, as my review today is of one of the major Phantom of the Opera versions: the 2004 Andrew Lloyd Webber movie, starring Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum.  I have mixed feelings about this one – and a theory involving Raoul and unreliable narration to explain everything from strange costume choices to the Phantom’s unstable character…  Enjoy watching!

I’m surpised I have yet to see Phantom of the Opera, the 2004, Andrew Lloyd Weber starring Gerard Butler movie. He is one of my favorite actors. It would be intriguing to see how he plays The Phantom. If I have seen this version and just don’t remember, I should watch it again anyway. I find it cool how there are numerous versions of Phantom of the Opera and your video book reviews portray to me what they are about. They are really great and articulate (to name of few) videos.

  2. What’s really great to me is that you can now watch on demand either the Gerard Butler version or the filmed play version and compare the two. Plus, you can own and rewatch whichever one you prefer. The technology and the choice it offers is amazing in our modern day.
