About the Blog

Castles and witches, fairies and dragons…or starships and black holes and aliens…or long ago times and far away places.  I love stories that take me to another world, that introduce me to amazing people, that give me a glimpse of wild adventures I can enjoy without sunburns or blisters!

This blog is all about discussing marvelous tales–my own and ones by other authors.  I post book and movie reviews, updates about my writing, and reflections on reading.  I read (and write) a good variety of genres, but tend towards something that takes me out of the real world.  Best are stories that take me to another place, be it the past, the present, or Neverland, and which appeal across all ages.

I especially love powerful heroines, dark protagonists with good hearts, comedy (clean, witty and clever), creative fairy tale retellings, sweet love stories, and novels that will make me think while they tell a compelling story.  I tend to write about those things too.

If you’re thinking, “I love all that too!” then welcome to the blog.  🙂  I hope I can help you find some marvelous tales to enjoy.

Neverland!  Faeries and pirates and flying…definitely Neverland.

Prince Edward Island, June of 1908.  Find out why.

Now you tell me—what’s your favorite book?  And why is it a marvelous tale?

  1. Whatever I’m enjoying reading at the time would be my favourite; just now Alison Uttley’s A Traveller in Time is commandeering my attention. It’s about a girl in a old Elizabethan house who slips into the past at random times to interact with the house’s former inhabitants.

  2. I’m not so much a fantasy fiend, but I do love and write YA novels. Mine are all pretty much mystery/suspense, though I am taking a stab at writing serialized fantasy fiction based on the MMO World of Warcraft, which of course is based off of Dungeons & Dragons. I’ve got two installments up so far, so please feel free to take a look. I’m also doing NaNoWriMo.
