“[I] never [know] how to talk about what I do. If I could talk about it, I would not have to do it. I make art, sometimes I make true art, and sometimes it fills the empty places in my life. Some of them. Not all.”
This quote surprises me. I would think an author as famous and accomplished as Neil Gaiman would be able to talk about what he does quite ably. Does he not give interviews about his books? Maybe he means he can’t describe the essence of what he does, rather than the mechanics.
