Today’s Book Blogger Hop question is: What is your favorite Christmas-themed fiction or nonfiction book?
I only have a couple favorite Christmas books. If I’m feeling traditional, I like A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. My other favorite is The Mischief of the Mistletoe by Lauren Willig, a very sweet Regency romance involving spies, set at Christmas with a cameo by Jane Austen. It’s delightful.
This year I just finished reading Skipping Christmas by John Grisham, which was very funny, with a heartwarming ending.
What are your favorite Christmas books? Evidently I could use some new ones!
I really enjoyed Skipping Christmas, too. The satirical humor is great as he sends up all the commercialization and the pressures of the Christmas season. And the end is indeed heartwarming. I also enjoyed Christmas Shopaholic, which is part of a series by Sophie Kinsella, starting with Confessions of a Shopaholic. The series is set in England and is sweet and funny. I hadn’t read any books in the series for a long time so I enjoyed revisiting the characters. You could probably read it as a stand-alone without too much confusion as to who is who. The plot was humorous and had a feel good ending.
