I’ve been rereading the Anne of Green Gables series by my favorite author, L. M. Montgomery. I recently read the first and most famous book, and today I’m back with a video review of Book Two, Anne of Avonlea.
Anne of Avonlea continues Anne’s story, and I continue making connections to Montgomery’s life. I share a few insights on the background of the writing, and discuss both the best and the…not as good…parts of the book. Enjoy!

Interesting that you think this second book is weak and possibly the weakest of the series. I wonder how it sold with the public. Did she have some kind of deal with her publisher to continue to write additional books even if this one wasn’t that successful? I like that she wrote romance about older characters. You’re right – that is rarely done in modern fiction.
