Just for fun for St. Patrick’s Day, forty shades of green pulled from my bookcases.
I love how eclectic the books ended up being, when I selected them by something as random as color–everything from Walden to Peanuts, Beverly Cleary to Terry Pratchett to William Shakespeare. I guess you can’t judge a book by its spine!

Oh! Love it! When I have room enough to buy new bookcases for by books I intend to arrange them by color, not by author. It’s so decorative and really adds to the interior design. 🙂
Fun idea, and great effect! I see some of my favourites in there — I Capture the Castle, and two LM Montgomery books 🙂
That’s GREAT!! Green books!!!!
Thx for hopping by my Saturday!!! -Burgandy Ice
I love it. I really should find some method of arranging my books other than “read” and “not-read”. Even by color might be an improvement.
What a great themed shot! Have you read all of these?
Remember — you can’t tell a book by it’s color!
I’ve read half of Walden, and portions of Emerson’s Essays (sitting on top of Walden), but all the rest I’ve read. Lots of good ones here, too. 🙂
Ha! What a fun idea! I loved Caddie Woodlawn … did it as a read-aloud with my daughters when they were young … and Rebecca … oh what a romantic read!
Oh, wow, that is SUCH a cool idea! And it’s an interesting way to take a snapshot of your collection (and reading tasters). I enjoyed seeing what all your green books are.
Ha, nifty idea.
Happy Paddy’s Day to you too 🙂
You make it look easy being green. I’m green with envy over your great idea. Truly, I love this picture. This is my first time here – thanks to Alyce – and I really like your blog title.
I have that Terry Pratchet book, and the Anne McCaffrey dragon one! Fun photo!
Wow I love your spirit and your green! This makes me happy. No one needs to pinch you : )
What a great idea. I clicked to the larger version and found some more goodies than the ones you mentioned.
That’s a lot of green books! Now I’m tempted to pull books of various colours off my own shelves and see if I can find enough of each to make a decent picture.
Wish I could get fun ideas like yours!
Cool photo! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Green books for St P’s Day – how perfect..LOL
What a great idea!
How appropriate for today! Makes me want to go look at my bookshelves to see how many green ones are there. Have a fun weekend!
Fabulous idea. Wonder what shades of green I could find in my bookshelf. How creative!
Wonderful way to showcase books! Showing the green….thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
What a fun photo! I want to go through all the books and look at the titles.
Feel free–clicking the photo will give you a much larger and more readable version.
What a great idea! I’ve been tempted to arrange my bookshelf by color but haven’t gotten around to trying it yet.
Mine are not arranged by color (although that would be so pretty!) so the real trick of this photo was to get them all back on the shelves afterwards, in their correct, alphabetical-by-genre places!
